Gary Neville says the title race was ‘ten minutes away’ from being ‘done’ before Manchester City’s incredible comeback win over Liverpool.
Man City looked set to fall even further behind Premier League leaders Arsenal when Dominik Szoboszlai broke the deadlock at Anfield with a thumping free-kick.
Pep Guardiola’s side trailed with just ten minutes remaining but pulled off a stunning comeback with two late goals.
Bernardo Silva scored an 84th-minute equaliser before Erling Haaland tucked home an injury-time penalty after Alisson bundled over Matheus Nunes.
The dramatic victory means Man City are again six points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports, eight-time Premier League winner Neville said: ‘Well ten minutes ago the title race was done.
‘It was now or never for Man City – it’s now! Sometimes in a title race a team will grab an opportunity, City have grabbed one.

‘They could be within three points by Wednesday which will put pressure on Arsenal. It’s bedlam out there, it’s blue bedlam.
‘Man City were 1-0 down and they’ve gone and won. If you want to sent a signal, you’ve just sent it.
‘They’ve struggled lately, it was like they were refusing to enter the title race. But they’ve entered it in style.’
Former Manchester City goalkeeper Paul Robinson added on BBC Radio 5 Live: ‘What a brilliant game of football. It had everything.
‘That is the perfect example of Premier League football – two heavyweights going at it to win three points. No one was sitting back.
‘It took a while for the game to get going, but when it did it was something special.
‘What can this do to Manchester City confidence-wise going forward? It’s all about putting runs together at this stage and that is a massive result can give them a huge confidence boost.
‘They might well just – and I mean just – be in this.’
Manchester City thought they had scored a third deep into injury-time whenRayan Cherki passed the ball into an empty net after Alisson had gone up for a corner.
Szoboszlai fouled Haaland before the ball crossed the line, however, and VAR advised referee Craig Pawson to disallow the goal and send the Liverpool midfielder off.
Discussing the bizarre incident, Man City striker Haaland said: ‘Of course, the referee had to follow the rules but this will give him three games, in the end I feel bad for him because he gets three games.
‘Just give the goal, don’t give a red card. Simple as that. It’s the rules and how it is.’
While Man City potentially kept the title race alive by stunning Liverpool, the defending champions are now just sixth in the Premier League, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Arne Slot’s side visit Sunderland on Wednesday evening while Manchester City will hope to keep the pressure on Arsenal when they face Fulham on the same night.
Premier League leaders Arsenal, who beat Sunderland 2-0 on Saturday, return to action against London rivals Brentford on Thursday.
