Celtics legend Al Horford opens up on Mike Vrabel and the Patriots before Super Bowl LX

Super Bowl LX has attracted attention from across the sports world, including figures outside the NFL.

Boston Celtics legend Al Horford is among those with a strong interest in the game.

Horford has long had ties to New England sports and has spoken openly about his support for the Patriots.

With the Super Bowl taking place in San Francisco, the occasion has also presented a rare opportunity for the Warriors big man to attend.

His comments offered insight into both his prediction and his personal connections to the Patriots.

Al Horford explains his Super Bowl LX prediction

Horford has made it clear that he is backing New England to come out on top.

He said his support for the Patriots was unwavering and shared the type of game he is hoping to see.

“Man, Pats all the way,” Horford told NBA on Prime Video. “I’m hoping it’s like a 28-24 type of score.

“I don’t know if it’ll be that many points because the defenses… both of them are really good. But, I just want a Pats win, ultimately.”

Horford suggested that strong defensive play on both sides could keep the score tight.

Despite that, he said his focus is firmly on his desired outcome of the Patriots winning the Super Bowl.

Horford also explained why this Super Bowl stands out as one he wanted to attend in person.

With the game being held in San Francisco, he said the timing finally worked around his basketball schedule.

“It’s in San Francisco,” Horford said to The Athletic. “I’ve never been in a city when the Super Bowl’s been going on.

“Usually we’re playing, and usually we can’t get out there; there’s always something going on, so it’s a great opportunity. The Pats are playing, so I’m going to be there.”

When discussing his connection to the Patriots, Horford highlighted his respect for Mike Vrabel.

“Vrabel. A lot of respect for him,” he added. “I got a chance to interact with him a little bit. He came to the Celtics’ facility a few times and to a few games. I got to talk to him, so I have a lot of respect for him.”

Horford has also referenced other familiar faces within the organization. He said he had seen Drake Maye a few times and spoke warmly about Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

“I’ve known him for a while now, so he’s always been very generous and nice to me and my family,” Horford continued. “So I’m definitely rooting for them.”
