**THE AD:** In Fanatics Sportsbook’s Super Bowl LX [spot](https://www.adweek.com/?p=1929078&preview=true), Kendall Jenner reveals that her vast wealth actually comes from wagers she’s placed on NBA games, having learned plenty about basketball from the players she’s dated.
Jenner leads viewers around her beachfront mansion—showing off her artwork, her pool terrace, her Ferrari 250 GT. The vixen of Calabasas scoffs at the “Kardashian Kurse,” the career plummet visited upon unlucky athletes crazy enough to woo one of the Kardashian-Jenner women.
**MY TAKE:** After failing to resolve 250 years of racial tensions with her [2017 Pepsi ad](https://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/pepsi-pulls-its-much-hated-kendall-jenner-ad-saying-it-missed-the-mark/), Kendall Jenner has redeemed herself somewhat in this spot for Fanatics Sportsbook. This time, she’s not trying to solve world peace. And she’s in on the joke.
Apparently you can learn a lot about basketball by sleeping with the players, and still more when your exes are Jordan Clarkson, Ben Simmons, Blake Griffin and Devin Booker. That’s the premise of the spot, in which Jenner jokes that her track record of dating and dumping NBA stars has paid dividends by way of smart bets she’s made on their games.
A lot of people don’t like the Kardashians. A lot of people do. But when a polarizing celebrity is willing to lampoon herself in front of more than 100 million people, it’s hard to diss someone who’s busy dissing themselves.
Jenner’s fork-tongued sass not only invites the audience in on the joke, but also on the secret: You can make a few bucks by betting on NBA games, even if you don’t get a mansion out of it.
