As was the case during the Roman Abramovich era, Chelsea have been quite ruthless under Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
For example, despite being important players in the 2024/25 season, Chelsea got rid of both Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke last summer, believing that they had upgraded on the two.
The former only left the club on loan but is not expected to return. It is being reported that multiple Premier League sides are interested in signing Jackson this summer.

When the transfer window opens again, more change could be on its way at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will prioritise selling Tosin Adarabioyo over Benoit Badiashile
Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile could both follow Jackson and Madueke out of the exit door.
Last week, it was reported that Chelsea will decide the futures of Badiashile and Adarabioyo later this year.
Since then, it has actually been claimed that Chelsea are ready to sell Badiashile. However, it seems way more likely that the club offload Adarabioyo first and then sell Badiashile or even keep hold of him.
The Chelsea Chronicle recently asked supporters on TalkingPoints which player would they axe if it became a choice between the two. A couple of fans answered both! You can still have your say by commenting below:

Badiashile is thought to be highly rated in west London, though, and is only 24. The Frenchman has time to grow.
Adarabioyo, in contrast, is much older and is unlikely to drastically improve at this stage of his career. He cost Chelsea nothing so will bring in an easy profit, and there is almost certain to be a market for him after all of the games he has played in the Premier League.
Because of injuries, Badiashile is still yet to prove himself in the English top flight. Ultimately, if Chelsea need to make room for the arrival of another centre-half, everything is pointing towards Adarabioyo getting the chop.

Chelsea’s potential list of central defenders next season
Chelsea’s centre-back list could be very interesting after the 2026 summer transfer window closes.
You would expect Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana to definitely still be at the club, while Trevoh Chalobah is making a great case to remain part of Liam Rosenior’s plans going forward.
Josh Acheampong may want to leave Chelsea on loan to get regular playing time, and Mamadou Sarr could also need to do the same thing despite having just returned to west London.
Of course, Chelsea may add a brand new centre-half to their squad as well. Nottingham Forest’s Murillo has recently been linked with the Blues.
It means Chelsea’s centre-back roster could consist of Colwill, Fofana, Chalobah, Murillo and perhaps any of the above names depending on what offers come in. Aaron Anselmino has not even been mentioned, so Rosenior clearly has options.
