Chelsea are interested in bringing another Argentina international to Stamford Bridge: Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.
The Blues already have Enzo Fernandez and Alejandro Garnacho, and it looks like there is a possibility of Alvarez linking up with them in west London this summer.
How much would Enzo Fernandez cost if Chelsea tried to buy him today? 🤔 💰

Back in November, The Chelsea Chronicle was told that Chelsea will be an option for Alvarez in the 2026 summer transfer window.
Ahead of the market opening, it appears that the Club World Cup winners are already working on his signing.

Chelsea leading Julian Alvarez race
Journalist Jorge Baravalle recently gave an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Alvarez, and it is good news for Blues fans!
According to Baravalle, while the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the forward, Chelsea are the ones who are really pushing for his signature right now.
Speaking on ESPN Argentina, Baravalle said: “From what I’m being told, Chelsea are quietly advancing in their pursuit of Julian Alvarez. There are already conversations underway.”
Baravalle later went on to add: “Several big clubs are circling, but right now Chelsea appear to be the most concrete and active ones pushing forward.”
Alvarez is not the only striker who is being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. There is once again speculation about Dusan Vlahovic potentially joining Chelsea in the summer.
The Juventus man will be a free agent at the end of the season, so that is something that the Conference League holders may very well want to explore. Alvarez, in contrast, could cost a fortune.

How much will Julian Alvarez cost?
According to Sport, Atletico could listen to offers starting from €100m (£86.9m) for Alvarez, which could be enough to deter suitors.

However, it is being reported that Chelsea are ready to “break the bank” for Alvarez, so that may not be a problem for them.
It is not a surprise to see Atletico slap such a huge price tag on the 26-year-old. Last season, he scored 29 goals in 57 appearances, making him one of the best strikers in Spain.
With that kind of firepower, Liam Rosenior’s side would undoubtedly go up another level. Maybe they will even be able to challenge for the Premier League title.
