There has been some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that LIVERPOOL are eyeing up a potential move to sign Marseille superstar Mason Greenwood during the summer transfer window, as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian international was linked with an exit after an outburst to the media during the January window, but those links were quietened with his involvement at AFCON for most of the winter window.
However – the talk that he could still be leaving this coming summer window has started to creep back into the media, with many reports suggesting that a move to Saudi Arabia is one that Salah may now be interested in making.
That has led to all sorts of reports in the media about the possible players that Liverpool could look to sign at the end of the season, and according to reports by Fichajes in Spain, Marseille striker Mason Greenwood is on the radar of both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Both clubs are said to be ‘ready’ to pay £78m ($106m) for the former Manchester United forward, which would see the Red Devils pocket 50% of the profits due to a hefty sell-on clause
The 24-year-old registered 22 goals in his debut campaign and has already matched that return this term, while also recording eight assists. He has once again been the standout performer for Ligue 1 giants – who have been gracing the Champions League this season.
IcFootballnews Says…
Mohamed Salah is not the player that he was last season, he is a man that LIVERPOOL could easily replace now if he does pack those bags and head to Saudi Arabia, where he will earn a massive wage.
Greenwood has rebuilt his career over in France and become such a superstar for Marseille, there are many that would like to see him back in the Premier League with one of the big clubs, to see if he can produce like he has been in France.
However – Greenwood would like to stay away from the British media, from the English fans that will drive him crazy for his time at Manchester United, it may not be the best idea to come back to the Premier League that is for sure.
If he does leave Marseille, maybe a move to Germany, Spain or Italy would be the better option as he would stay away from the British press.
