Chelsea interested in Sunderland goalkeeper

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs.

The 23-year old was signed from Swedish club Malmö, but has already established himself as number one at the club. He has the second-highest save percentage in the Premier League at the moment,

But that has already seen him come to the notice of bigger clubs, with both Liverpool and Manchester City monitoring his position.

Sunderland are aware of the interest in him and value him in excess of £50m. The Dutch international is under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2030, but a substantial offer could be too good for the North-East club to turn down.

Chelsea have been looking for an upgrade on Robert Sánchez as their number one keeper for some time. They have long been linked with a move for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, but the French international has since signed a new contract at the San Siro.
