It will be a big summer for Everton, and the stars may already be aligning for one potential transfer deal.
In the transfer window just gone, Everton didn’t get up to much, only bringing in Tyrique George as a reaction to losing Jack Grealish to injury.
Everton had been on the lookout for new players. But the narrative was always that the club wouldn’t be spending big, as they didn’t necessarily see the best value in January.
Winter window now shut, what striker do you want signed in the summer for Everton? 💥

The Toffees would only have explored exceptional deals and in the end, Everton settled with what they had.
But the summer window will be a different story, especially if Everton secure European football.
The squad will need strengthening – and the likelihood is that a new striker will be targeted.
Liam Delap is said to still be on Everton’s radar, and a new development is encouraging for Everton.

Over the weekend, it was suggested that Delap could be on the move just one year after signing for Chelsea.
Delap joined the west London giants for £30 million last summer after Ipswich Town’s relegation, but he hasn’t made the desired impact so far.
So far he’s made 16 appearances in the Premier League, and scored just one goal.
Everton are credited with an interest – and what Chelsea are now doing is encouraging ahead of a potential pursuit.
According to ESPN Argentina, Chelsea are advancing in negotiations for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez is in his second season with Atleti now after joining for £82 million (Sky Sports), but could be set for a return to the Premier League this summer.
If he joined Chelsea, then this would surely pave the way for Everton – and others – to make plays for Delap.
Delap should have joined Everton last summer
The notion of Everton signing Delap is interesting, given the club’s desire to land him last summer.
Seemingly, Everton have not been put off by his struggles this term and would like to make a fresh attempt to sign him.

Delap’s decision to join Chelsea last summer was a bold one. And he cannot have been too pleased when they then signed Joao Pedro after him.
Delap would have undoubtedly played regularly had he joined Everton.
If the Alvarez move progresses, then that will surely hasten his departure and hopefully Everton will be well placed to sign him.
