Opinion: Chelsea's minimum fee to sell Cole Palmer this summer, only one team would pay that

There has been a lot of speculation about Cole Palmer’s future at Chelsea this season.

After Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Palmer hit out at reports that he is not happy in west London and wants to return to Manchester.

Yet the attacking midfielder is still being linked with a move to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Cole Palmer is the best signing of the Todd Boehly era, there’s no debate 🤩

It has even been alleged that Chelsea have a price tag in mind for their talisman.

Chelsea value Cole Palmer at £150m

Chelsea signed Palmer from Manchester City for just £40m and reportedly want more than triple that if they sanction an exit this summer.

According to TEAMtalk, amid interest from United, Chelsea will demand at least £150m for the 23-year-old.

Given his importance to the team and the contract he is currently on, it would be a huge surprise if the Club World Cup winners did think about selling Palmer in the next transfer window.

Even if they do, though, United will not be able to spend that kind of money on a single player, especially with the Premier League’s financial rules.

In fact, there is probably only one club in Europe who would be able to drop £150m on Palmer.

Liam Rosenior loves watching Palmer so will be hoping that neither they nor any other club make an offer for the Englishman.

Only PSG would pay £150m for Cole Palmer

At this moment in time, Paris Saint-Germain are the only team you can imagine shelling out £150m on one player.

There is talk that PSG are interested in signing Enzo Fernandez, who is likely to cost a similar fee to the above.

He is another Chelsea star who is on a ridiculously long contract like Palmer, though. You just cannot see a world where either the Argentina international or Palmer are sold this summer. It is a non-starter, especially if United are the main suitor, which is allegedly the case with Palmer.
