Arsenal and Chelsea contact Roc Nation to sign rising star – London battle on

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs in the mix to sign Club Brugge’s Aleksandar Stanković in the summer.

That’s according to Het Laatste Nieuws, who cover Arsenal and Chelsea in a report on the midfielder.

He joined the Jupiler Pro League side from Inter Milan in July 2025 and signed a contract until 2029.

The 20-year-old quickly cemented his place in Belgium and has played 37 matches so far this season. Despite operating mainly as a defensive midfielder, he’s managed seven goals and four assists.

Stanković’s rise at Club Brugge has clearly not gone unnoticed. On Christmas Day, we covered claims from Italy that Mikel Arteta’s side have shown great interest in him. The Club World Cup winners have joined the Gunners.

HLN make it clear that it’s their own information on Arsenal and Liam Rosenior’s side. According to the newspaper, the two London clubs are in contact with both Club Brugge and Roc Nation, the agency that manage Stanković.

Aleksandar Stanković buyback clause an issue

The Serbia international’s profile and potential make him ‘very interesting for Arsenal and the Blues. Borussia Dortmund are also keen and are one of the clubs to have already made contact over a move.

Inter have a buyback clause of €23m valid between June 1st to 15th. This could stop Arsenal, Chelsea or any other club from signing the player after this season.

If the Serie A side were to not exercise it, HLN claim Club Brugge will have a ‘free rein to sell’ the Serbian.

In that case, the Belgian club’s intention is to sell him for a much higher fee than the ‘bargain price’ of €23m. Inter will then 50% of the profit.

Club Brugge hope Inter don’t return for Stanković, to make huge profit in the summer.
