Reporter Iomie Stanley has now claimed that Chelsea fans would love it if the club actually managed to complete the signing of Julian Alvarez, with reports claiming that the Blues are working hard to sign the striker.
CHELSEA spent big on Joao Pedro and Liam Delap last summer, and reports suggest they may need to part ways with 100m euros (£87m) to add Alvarez to their attacking ranks as Pedro and Delap have not scored the goals that the club would like.

And while interest is clearly strong, several factors will influence whether the transfer actually happens, according to Stanley, he told icfootballnews: ‘Alvarez is under contract with Atletico until 2030, and reports suggest a significant release clause — potentially up to around €500m — exists, though this would likely be used as a starting point for negotiations rather than the final price.
‘The latest reports suggest Chelsea are “gradually making progress” in negotiations, and that club officials and agents have already been observed in London discussing Alvarez’s future.’
