**Manchester City’s Marc Guehi admits he is baffled by Liverpool fans booing him.**
Guehi lined up against Arne Slot’s side in Sunday’s Premier League showdown and was audibly jeered by home supporters during [the visitors’ eventual 2-1 victory](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/63575-liverpool-1-2-man-city-three-talking-points-alisson-dominik-szoboszlai-arne-slot/).
The England international had been on the verge of joining the Reds last summer before Crystal Palace [pulled the plug on the deadline day move](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/59969-crystal-palace-pull-the-plug-on-marc-guehi-liverpool-move/) at the eleventh hour.
He subsequently joined City in the January window for a £35 million deal, with the reigning Premier League champions not following up their original interest in him.
Speaking after the game, Guehi was at a loss at the reason for his hostile reception.
He said: “I’m not sure why, to be honest.
“But I can’t control what their fans think of me.
“I’m just grateful for our fans for sticking by me and supporting me the whole game.”
