Chelsea are still thought to retain an interest in Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers.
In December, it was claimed that Rogers was no longer on Chelsea’s radar after the attacking midfielder signed a new contract at Villa Park.
However, since then, the reliable Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea are still monitoring Rogers.

Another journalist has now given an update on the 23-year-old, and it is good news for anyone hoping to see him at Stamford Bridge next season.

Morgan Rogers’ contract may have release clause in it
Simon Phillips has revealed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that he has been informed by sources that Rogers may actually have a release clause in his current deal, which was signed in November.
It takes Rogers’ stay at Villa Park into 2031, which is a very long time. To convince the Englishman to put pen to paper on the contract, Villa may very well have had to include a release clause or agree to some kind of gentleman’s agreement.
Assessing Chelsea’s squad, Rogers could be the ideal addition this summer. No one has made the left-wing spot their own yet, while Liam Rosenior could do with an alternative to Cole Palmer in the No.10 position. Rogers can play in both.

Chelsea are also thought to be keen on Kenan Yildiz, and he is another player who can start on the left flank or behind the striker.
If the Club World Cup winners can sign either, supporters are very likely to be happy.

Morgan Rogers’ stats in Premier League this season
Rogers recovered from a slow start to the season. The England international is once again having a bright campaign in claret and blue.
In 25 Premier League appearances, Rogers has scored eight goals and provided five assists.
According to FotMob, he has also created 31 chances and 10 big chances. Rogers is practically the complete No.10 and would be an incredible addition to Chelsea if the Blues can get a deal done this summer.
