The Los Angeles Lakers have won three straight games, and they’ll look to keep their winning ways rolling when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.
Unfortunately, they’ll be missing a key contributor for the contest.
Luka Doncic ruled out vs. Thunder with left hamstring strain
Star guard Luka Doncic has been ruled out of the game against Oklahoma City due to a left hamstring strain.
It will be the second straight game missed by Doncic with the injury, which he suffered during L.A.’s 119-115 win over the Philadelphia 76ers last Thursday night.
On the season, Doncic has appeared in 42 games for the Lakers and is averaging 32.8 points, 8.6 assists, 7.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per performance. He's leading the league in points per game and was recently named an All-Star for the sixth time in his career.
While the Lakers will be missing their lead guard for the game, the same can be said about the Thunder, who will be without reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander due to an abdominal strain. It will be the third straight game missed by Gilgeous-Alexander.
The game between L.A. and Oklahoma City will be the second of the season between the two teams. The Thunder bested the Lakers, 121-92, in the first meeting on Nov. 12. After Monday night, the teams will meet two more times in April.
