The Milwaukee Bucks still have a lot of catching up to do if they are to make the 2025 NBA Playoffs, but they have made some strides of late.
They are currently on a three-game winning streak, as they won all their outings in a recently concluded homestand, including a 105-99 victory over the Indiana Pacers at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Friday.
As Milwaukee has found its rhythm, the team tried to address one of its biggest issues in the 2025-26 NBA season byadding shooting guard Cam Thomas, who parted ways with the Brooklyn Nets at the NBA trade deadline.
The 24-year-old Thomas can be expected to provide Milwaukee with a shot in the arm on offense. He is known for mostly one thing on the court, and that’s getting buckets. In 239 games with the Nets, the former LSU Tigers star averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
From the 2023-24 campaign to the 2024-25 season, he put up 22.9 points per game on a 44.1 percent shooting from the field and 35.9 percent shooting from the 3-point area through 91 games.
Thomas now starts a new chapter in his NBA career, this time with Milwaukee.
“I picked Milwaukee because they wanted me and they told me they’ve been interested for years now. So, it’s good to have this opportunity come to fruition. And I’m just hoping to meet everybody, get to know everybody and contribute as soon as possible,”Thomas told Marc J. Spears of Andscape.
The Bucks are just 21st in the league with a 113.8 offensive efficiency and only 27th overall with an average of 112.0 points per outing.
Fans react to Thomas’ take on joining the Bucks
“Hope he gets them to the playoffs. I feel like he’s gonna go off.,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “Not sure Giannis will agree when Cam Thomas takes his 25th shot in the 3rd qtr.”
From a commenter: “Congrats to Cam for leaving the dumpster fire known as Sean Marks and the @BrooklynNets”
“Hanging your nba future on Doc Rivers is a CHOICE,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Smart choice not going to the Lakers. That team has been a shitshow since Bron got there..”
Said another: “lol i picked them cause no one else wanted me”
