Liam Rosenior has decided where Josh Acheampong is going to play at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is a fan of Josh Acheampong, who has played in more than one position this season.

Acheampong broke into Chelsea’s first team as a right-back and has been used there in the current campaign.

However, the 19-year-old has also been deployed in central defence, showing his versatility.

How much would you SELL Acheampong for? 😤

It would have to be a hefty price…

Liam Rosenior sees Josh Acheampong as a centre-back

For Rosenior, Acheampong is a centre-half, and the Chelsea head coach has said as much.

In his pre-match press conference, which has been relayed by football.london, Rosenior stated: “Josh is an amazing talent. I’ve got to meet him and his parents. Josh has got immense potential.

“What I like to do is put them in different positions because it improves their understanding of the game. Long-term, Josh is a centre-back and he has all the attributes to become a great centre-back.”

There is a lot of competition to get into Chelsea’s central defence right now. As well as Acheampong, Rosenior also has Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr.

Levi Colwill will also be another option for the Blues once he fully recovers from his ACL injury. Colwill is expected to return before the end of the season, which would be a huge boost for Chelsea.

With all of those options, it will be intriguing to see how much game time Acheampong gets between now and the conclusion of the campaign.

If it is not a lot, then the England Under-21 international could decide to leave Chelsea in the summer.
