Chelsea, who have multiple key players missing for the game against Leeds, have shown strong form since Rosenior’s appointment, making the trip to Stamford Bridge a challenging fixture for a Leeds side fighting for survival.
‘Plays proper football’, Daniel Farke praises Liam Rosenior
Despite managing one of Leeds’ bitter rivals, Rosenior may be a more popular figure in West Yorkshire when Leeds fans realise he previously spoke highly of Marcelo Bielsa.
Farke returned the favour and offered genuine praise for the young Chelsea manager during his press conference.
The German reflected on Rosenior’s career path and current impact, saying, “I came across him first as a pundit, I thought his judgements on games made a lot of sense,” Farke stated. He followed Rosenior’s move into management, adding, “His natural role was as assistant, then he took over at Hull. I like the way he set up his team. Played proper football, not easy to find solutions against them.”
The Leeds boss clearly sees Rosenior as a talented coach with a bright future. “Promising, and still a young coach. A big stage, I’m quite sure he will try everything to grab this chance with both hands.” Farke concluded his assessment by noting, “Impressive run of results, we’ll see what the outcome is, but a very talented manager.”
The comments came ahead of a crucial game for Leeds. Their 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest last Friday provided some breathing room, but the league table remains tight. Farke knows the task at Stamford Bridge is difficult, regardless of his admiration for the opposition coach.

Whilst it was Farke who had the advantage of boasting the more valuable squad when Rosenior was in charge of Hull, the tables have well and truly turned in the Englishman’s favour when he takes charge of Chelsea to face Leeds.
Whether Rosenior can make this advantage count the same way Farke did and pick up his first win over the German remains to be seen, but the travelling Leeds supporters will certainly hope their manager has a few tricks up his sleeve to produce another magnificent result.
