FPL Focus: Make the most of a Double Gameweek

After our latest win on Saturday against Sunderland at Emirates Stadium, we’re quickly back on the pitch this midweek, with Fantasy Premier League back for Gameweek 26.

Viktor Gyokeres’ double from the bench and Martin Zubimendi’s fine strike got the job done against the Black Cats in N5, we’re locked in ahead of Thursday’s trip across London to face an in-form Brentford.

We’re also part of the first Double Gameweek of this FPL season, with our rearranged visit to Wolves brought forward into GW26 when we face them a week on Wednesday.

RAYA AND ZUBI 100 UP

Saturday’s three-goal performance ensured several Arsenal stars once again rewarded their Fantasy managers with points hauls, and it was yet another Zubimendi masterclass as the Spaniard outperformed his bargain £5.2m price tag for another week.

Martin has now surpassed the 100-point barrier following his 10-point haul, aided by opening the scoring for the second consecutive league match. His ownership is inevitably creeping up, though he still features in just 3.9% of teams.

David Raya (£5.9m) has also smashed into triple figures this term, with seven points against Sunderland taking him to a season total of 106. David and Martin join Gabriel (£7.1m), Declan Rice (£7.5m), Jurrien Timber (£6.4m) and Bukayo Saka (£9.9m) in our 100 club, with Leandro Trossard (£6.8m) in hot pursuit with 92.

It was another productive week for Gyokeres' owners (£8.7m), whose presence in FPL squads has now risen to 11.5%. Vik top-scored in red and white on Saturday, amassing 12 points in half an hour, courtesy of a second-half brace that sealed the game.

Seventh-placed Brentford have been a breath of fresh air this season and are now embarking on a bid to secure European football under Keith Andrews. Several Bees stars have excelled for FPL managers - none more so than leading marksman Igor Thiago (£7.0m). The Brazilian was priced at just £6.0m when he arrived in London in the summer, and has gone on to score 131 points via 17 league goals. Thiago - owned by 31.3% of bosses - is the undisputed Brentford penalty taker, and his place in the side is reinforced by the suspension of Kevin Schade (£7.0m).

Another impressive performer has been Brentford’s other player to feature in over 10% of teams, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher (£4.6m). Reasonably priced for his contributions this term, the Irishman has soared to 94 points, having already saved three penalties.

One player potentially going under the radar of late at the Gtech Stadium is Dango Ouattara (£5.8m), who has returned from AFCON duty with a flourish, bagging 20 points in his last two Gameweeks and scoring the winning goals at Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Selected by just 0.4% of squads, Ouattara is a promising differential whose next two fixtures after facing us come against Brighton at home, and away to Burnley.

GET YOUR GUNNERS IN FOR DGW26!

Gameweek 26 is the first Double Gameweek (DGW) of 2025/26, in which some Premier League clubs have more than one fixture. That includes us, who will travel to Wolves on Wednesday, February 18, three days after our FA Cup fourth-round tie with Wigan Athletic and six after our trip to Brentford.

Consequently, the best course of action is to ensure the maximum three Arsenal assets in your FPL squad, with all of them starting. Should any blank against Brentford in our first match of GW26, the Wolves visit provides a second chance to weigh in with a useful points haul. Gabriel, Raya, Rice and Timber are all owned by over 30% of squads and have each become staple FPL picks, with Zubimendi and Gyokeres hitting inspired form.

Other Gunners who could provide a solid option across the two games include Riccardo Calafiori (£5.6m), whose recent injury layoff means his price tag is currently on the cheaper side compared to his defensive teammates. Noni Madueke (£6.8m) has been a prominent performer of late, securing a 14-point return against Leeds United in GW24, and his previous visit to Wolves in the Premier League yielded a hat-trick at the beginning of last season.

As for Wolves, it has been a wretched campaign so far but the Old Gold also have two matches in GW26, visiting survival-hunting Nottingham Forest on Wednesday alongside next week’s meeting. With 62 points, their leading FPL marksman this term has been midfielder Joao Gomes (£5.3m), while teenage talent Mateus Mane (£4.6m) burst onto the scene earlier this season with two goals in as many games against Everton and West Ham United.

Bargain buys such as Mane and Gomes, alongside new striker Adam Armstrong (£5.5m), could be considered - especially if playing a Free Hit for this Gameweek.

Finally regarding the DGW, ensure a strategy is in place for GW31 in March, as both the Gunners and Wolves will have a Blank Gameweek (BGW) due to our participation in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City. This also means City, and their original GW31 league opponents Crystal Palace, will also not feature in FPL that week and all players will receive a zero-point total.

UNDER THE RADAR

With managers flocking to bring in high-profile assets who have stormed the points totals, there are always several players who slip out of the spotlight despite enjoying hugely beneficial purple patches.

Among the heavily-picked Premier League stars in red-hot form, such as Bruno Fernandes (£9.8m) and Cole Palmer (£10.5m), there are numerous players far more suitable to your budget who have delivered in recent weeks.

With West Ham turning a corner as they battle to keep hold of Premier League football, 1.9%-owned Crysencio Summerville (£5.6m) has been a star turn. The Dutchman has scooped an incredible 36 points across his last four Gameweeks, scoring in every one. The Hammers have two home fixtures next up, against Manchester United and Bournemouth.

Speaking of Bournemouth, they have already demonstrated some FPL bargains this season in the shape of Eli Junior Kroupi (£4.7m) and Alex Scott (£5.0m), but the Cherries have now introduced new signing Rayan (£5.5m) to life in England. A forward-minded player registered as a midfielder, the teenage Brazilian scored in a man-of-the-match display against Aston Villa last weekend.

Finally, Leeds United also look strong - particularly at Elland Road - and appear unafraid against many top-half sides this season. Defender James Justin is available at just £3.9m, having hit 25 points in his last four Gameweeks as an extra attacking outlet from the back - at an ultra-bargain fee. Leeds do face two away games next, but holding off on Justin is likely to see his price rise.

Ensure your transfers and team selection are all complete and submitted by this Tuesday night at 6pm UK time to beat the deadline for GW26!
