Manchester City have their eye on Everton’s roster ahead of the summer transfer market as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has emerged as one of their leading targets.
Pep Guardiola’s side are refusing to rule themselves out of a Premier League title run this season. City fought back against Liverpool on Sunday to secure a 2-1 win to keep the gap between them and Arsenal at six points.
The Citizens are planning ahead of the summer transfer window and have made a midfield restructure one of their priorities on the signing front.
Man City want Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
According to Fichajes, Man City are working on strengthening their midfield and have set their sights on bring in Dewsbury-Hall from Everton. The 27-year-old has been a key player under David Moyes since his arrival from Chelsea last summer and City have been watching his development.
Guardiola believes Dewsbury-Hall could ‘fit naturally’ in his current system and his qualities are said to be ‘highly valued’ by the manager.
Everton are aware keeping hold of the midfielder will be tricky if his form continues and a significant offer comes in for him ahead of next season. Those at the Hill Dickinson Stadium ‘assume’ the interest shown by City is genuine, who made huge waves with their signings of Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo during the winter window.
Man City ‘willing’ to pay Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall transfer fee
The report claims that those close to Dewsbury-Hall are ‘open’ to a potential move away from Everton. The midfielder believes he is at a ‘pivotal moment’ in his career and ‘isn’t ruling out joining a top-tier European club’.
A reported £40 million transfer fee has been discussed, which is an amount City ‘would be willing to pay’. The club views it as a logical investment for a player with a lot of talent an exciting number of years ahead of him.
Everton aren’t willing to let Dewsbury-Hall leave easy but they ‘won’t rule out a move’ themselves if an offer of £40 million comes their way.
The Blues signed the 27-year-old for a fee in the region of £28 million. He has been a revelation signing since he arrived on Merseyside and has featured in every Premier League match he has been eligible for this season. His only absences so far have been due to injuries or card suspensions.
