Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, triggering fresh calls for FSG to sack Arne Slot.
The Dutch manager has been under huge pressure this season and is, by now, no stranger to the vast speculation over his future as Liverpool manager.
FSG recently gave Slot a huge show of public confidence with Liverpool’s YouTube series The Reds Roundtable, featuring a discussion between Slot, sporting director Richard Hughes and CEO Billy Hogan with Sky Sports journalist Vicky Gomersall.
However, in the first game since the interview was published, Liverpool not only lost to Man City, but appeared unwilling or unable to take the game to Pep Guardiola’s team, resulting in a toothless display.
The Reds needed a 35-yard thunderbolt free kick from Dominik Szoboszlai to have any chance of a win, but despite being in the driving seat, they sat back and allowed Man City to win the game from a losing position with 15 minutes to go until full-time.

Jamie Carragher has now launched a scathing review of the Dutch coach’s prospects at Anfield.
Jamie Carragher argument suggests it’s time to sack Arne Slot
Speaking two weeks ago, Carra was asked by Dave Jones on Sky if the Reds need to finish in the top four for Slot to retain his job, and the Scouse pundit agreed.
Carragher replied: “Yeah. Listen, I think some of the criticism and disrespect he’s had from Liverpool supporters has been far too much considering he won the league title last season.
“But if you don’t qualify for the Champions League having won the title the season before and spent as much as Liverpool have, I don’t think you’ve got a leg to stand on.”
Now, Carragher has said that Liverpool are not likely to get top four in spite of a mere four-point gap with fourth-placed Chelsea.
When asked on Sky Sports after the 2-1 City defeat whether or not Liverpool will make the top four, Carragher replied: “No. Right now I don’t. They would have to have a huge upturn in form. And the ones above them are in great form.
“It’s a bad one. When you look at the league for Liverpool, it looks like a long way to get into the top five Champions League positions.
“There’s a gap now. You can make that up but Liverpool will have to do well in the two cup competitions to save the season.”
Liverpool are running out of time this season
There are just 13 Premier League games remaining for Liverpool to overtake either Chelsea, Aston Villa or Manchester United, who are five points above the Reds following Michael Carrick’s impressive role in the caretaker role.

Of those games, their toughest tests will come against Sunderland (up next), Spurs, Everton, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
However, given Liverpool’s spineless character in 2025-26, there isn’t a team they are safe against anymore.
