Chelsea picked up another win in the Premier League over the weekend under Liam Rosenior

Chelsea won 3-0 away at Wolves over the weekend. Cole Palmer scored a hat-trick at Molineux. The Blues are sat in 5th place in the Premier League table after 25 fixtures.

Liam Rosenior’s side are a point behind Manchester United in 4th. They are back in league action on Tuesday night at home to Leeds United as they aim to keep their momentum going. The London outfit then play Hull City in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night at the MKM Stadium.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer lauded by Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes

Chelsea star Palmer took to Instagram after their victory over Wolves to send a message to his followers. In response, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes replied ‘What a player’ followed by clapping emojis. He has been linked with a shock switch to Old Trafford recently.

However, speaking on Saturday, Palmer poured cold water on the speculation and said: "Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don't they? I don't pay too much attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I've come from a strong place anyway so I don't pay attention to it.

"Life under Liam is amazing, he gives us all confidence. Lets us be ourselves, play free. I'm sure when I'm back proper fit you'll see the best of me. Him and all the staff give us all confidence on the training pitch, with his strategies, the way we play... I really like it."

He added: "I don't think [I'm 100% fit] just yet. Obviously people don't know what goes on behind the scenes but being injured the whole season is not ideal and when I'm not able to perform as I want to because I've been injured, and still dealing with the injury, but hopefully I can get over the injury soon by managing it. I know what level I can provide when I feel 100% fit. Not being 100% fit isn't ideal, I still feel like I can help the team but when I'm back to full fitness I feel like I can go to another level."

Chelsea ace Cole Palmer catching the eye

Chelsea ace Palmer will be in confident mood now after his three goals against Wolves. He is starting to find his feet again after a tough campaign to date. As he has alluded to, he hasn’t been fully fit.

The England international moved down south back in 2023 from Manchester City. Prior to his switch, he rose up through the academy at the Etihad Stadium and was a regular for City at various different youth levels before he broke into the first-team under Pep Guardiola. He scored six goals in 41 games during his time in the North West.

Palmer has since found the net on 51 occasions in 114 outings for Chelsea. Rosenior said: "We know what a world-class player he is. He's played a lot of football over the last year with not much rest. When he's at his best, he's unstoppable. I'm delighted to be working with him."
