The NBA is reportedly investigating the Oklahoma City Thunder after they played a nationally televised game against the Spurs with just eight available players.
The NBA is investigating the Oklahoma City Thunder for player absences due to injury during their nationally televised game last week against the San Antonio Spurs, according to Dan Woike of The Athletic.
Oklahoma City Thunder / Schedule
OKC lost 116-106 on the road to San Antonio last Wednesday (Jan. 4). The Thunder were without 10 of their 15 standard-contracted players and had only eight players available, including three two-way contract players.
Some of the team's key players were among those sidelined. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed the game with an abdominal strain.
Alex Caruso was out due to a right adductor injury, Isaiah Hartenstein had a right eye corneal abrasion, and Chet Holmgren was sidelined with low back spasms.
With these absences and additional injuries across the roster, the Thunder's lineup looked very different from the group that has dominated the Western Conference this season. They remain 40-13 on the season.
