In his pregame speech on Monday against the Utah Jazz, head coach Erik Spoelstra said that there's still no clear timeline for Herro's ongoing rib recovery.
“I don’t have a timeline but he is making progress," he told reporters. "He’s doing what he needs to do behind the scenes.
"We’ll just continue to treat him and when there is an update, I’ll let you know.”
Herro remains out indefinitely due to a costochondral issue (injury to the cartilage connecting the ribs) on his right side. He has been out since late January and already missed the team's last 12 games.
The franchise guard endured a tough season this 2025-26 due to injuries. He only appeared in 11 games so far.
With Herro still out for an uncertain period, Miami will continue relying on Norman Powell and Bam Adebayo leading their charge.
The Heat (28-26) are currently eighth in the East.
