Murray (Achilles) remains out indefinitely, but his status will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
While there is no clear timeline of return yet, the latest update that the New Orleans Pelicans can provide about Dejounte Murray's injury recovery is after the All-Star break.
Interim coach James Borrego announced the news ahead of the team's Monday home game against the Sacramento Kings.
"No timeline yet. I think we’ll have a better idea after the break, but it’s great to have him back on the court. He was a participant yesterday, a limited participant, and I think that will ramp up over the next couple of days," Borrego said.
"We’ll get into the All-Star break, and then see where we go from there."
Murray remains under recovery after suffering a torn Achilles tendon during the 2024-25 season. He is yet to appear this year.
As such, the star guard has shown promising progress already. Murray participated in the Pels' practice on Sunday for the first time since his injury, and Borrego is simply ecstatic about it.
"It’s just great having him out there. I’m so proud of him. What a devastating injury, but the way he’s handled it, the way he has attacked it, he deserves a ton of credit. He and his team and our team, the entire performance team, deserve a ton of credit," Borrego said.
"It’s just great to have him back out there. You can feel his presence, his leadership, his confidence. It’s a massive boost for this organization."
