We Asked Arsenal Fans How They Rate Viktor Gyokeres’s Season So Far And The Results Are Surprising

**The majority of Arsenal supporters believe Viktor Gyokeres has had a decent season so far.**

In a poll conducted by **_GoonerNews_** to gauge the feelings of fans, over 37% did say the Swedish international had been a disappointment.

However, nearly 60% of the vote was shared between those who feel that Gyokeres’s performances have either been “good” or “acceptable”.

You can press “view results” below the poll to see the breakdown of the votes:

The season has been a slow burn for Gyokeres

--------------------------------------------

The 27-year-old scored 3 goals in his first 4 Premier League appearances, but it was a bit of a struggle (at least domestically) from then on.

Gyokeres found it very difficult to score from open play, with just one in the league (coming against Burnley) between mid-September and late January.

However, his recent goals off the substitutes bench [**against Leeds United**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-player-ratings-leeds-2/) and Sunderland have improved his numbers somewhat.

How does the Arsenal striker compare to other summer signings?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Gyokeres has found the back of the net 13 times in 32 appearances, which means he has averaged a goal every 2.46 matches so far this campaign.

In terms of other forwards who arrived in the Premier League last summer, he compares pretty favourably with several others, including Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko (1 in 3.7 appearances), Chelsea pair Joao Pedro (1 in 2.83) and Liam Delap (1 in 11), as well as Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade (1 in 4).

Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike has outscored him (1 in 2.2 games) but not by as much as some would think. All in all, while Gyokeres hasn’t quite set the world alight as many would have hoped, he is far from the flop that he has been made out to be, and it seems the majority of fans agree with that sentiment.
