Australia’s biggest streetball festival is back for another year, with Summer Jam taking over Peanut Farm Reserve, St Kilda, from February 20-22.
This year, the tournament will feature two special guests, NBA legends Metta Sandiford-Artest and Lance Stephenson — who returns for a second-straight year.
Sandiford-Artest, an NBA Champion and Defensive Player of the Year and Stephenson, an NBA fan-favourite, are no strangers to the blacktop, with the native New Yorkers both deeply entrenched in streetball culture, putting on electric displays at Rucker Park in years gone by.
Across the Championship weekend, the NBA duo are set to appear at the Jam Elite Showcase, Creator Cup: World vs Australia, as well as fan meet and greets.
The Summer Jam Championship will feature both men’s and women’s divisions competing for a $20,000 prize pool, the National Slam Dunk Contest featuring top Australian and international dunkers, and the Creator Cup, bringing together a team of creators and athletes, along with live music, DJs, food and much more.
