Chelsea vs Leeds
Chelsea Football Newsletter
The Blues were well beaten as they visited Elland Road in December, losing 3-1 as pressure was piled onto then-manager Enzo Maresca.
The Italian parted ways with the club less than a month later, and Liam Rosenior now has the chance to do what his Italian predecessor never could.
He picked up an encouraging win on the road last weekend, dispatching Wolves 3-0 thanks to Cole Palmer’s hat-trick to leave the Blues just one point adrift of the top four.
Chelsea will be without club captain Reece James for this fixture, though, in a blow to Rosenior’s prospects. The full-back missed the Wolves match with a knock from which he has now recovered, but a new illness will see him left at home.
Romeo Lavia could also make a rare appearance in the squad, having returned to first-team training this week.
Daniel Farke, meanwhile, only has one absentee in Anton Stach, who is carrying a hip injury.
