Chelsea are to allow defender Beno ît Badiashile to leave the club in the summer.
There were high hopes for him when he was signed from Monaco for £32.7 million in 2023, but, after a bright start, he has first-team minutes increasingly difficult to earn, and he is now considered not part of the “long-term” project at Stamford Bridge.
Instead Chelsea continue to look for alternatives. They were heavily interested in Jeremy Jacquet before he chose Liverpool instead, whilst they remained linked with Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo.
Badiashile will not want for offers. There has been speculation that AC Milan are ready to make a move for him, although there has not been a concrete offer made yet. And other Serie A clubs may also be ready to enter the fray, with Chelsea looking for at least £30 million for him, enabling them to essentially recoup their original investment.
