Chelsea closing in on£82M signing–Rosenior wants Ligue 1 star signed–Chelsea make moves sign striker

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icchelseanews that you may have missed….

Reports have claimed Chelsea are advancing in talks to beat Arsenal and Barcelona to the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, as the Blues look to add to their attack early in the summer window.

CHELSEA spent big on Joao Pedro and Liam Delap last summer, and reports suggest they may need to part ways with 100m euros (£87m) to add Alvarez to their attacking ranks as Pedro and Delap have not scored the goals that the club would like.

It has been reported in recent weeks that Arsenal or Barcelona are the two clubs that are leading the chase to sign Alvarez when the transfer window opens up in just a few months, time, butt reports from ESPNArgentina now suggest that Chelsea are the club leading the charge for Alvarez’s signature, with talks held between the player’s agency and the club earlier this week.

‘I insist, people are talking about a lot with Barcelona and Arsenal,’ ESPN journalist Jorge Baravalle said.

‘But I’m being told that the team slowly moving forward is Chelsea. Chelsea, quietly, are advancing for Julián Álvarez.”

‘I’m told there are conversations. In fact, part of the agency handling Julián’s transfer was in London this week, watching Chelsea v Arsenal. They know both clubs want him, but what I’m being told is that, as of today, the most advanced contacts are with CHELSEA.’

Speaking in December last year about the speculation surrounding his future at Atletico, Alvarez said: ‘Look, it doesn’t bother me. I try not to pay much attention, but I know what’s being said.

‘It’s all over social media. I think it’s more what’s being said online than what’s actually happening.

‘I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atletico Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.’

ROSENIOR WANTS BARCO

Chelsea are interested in signing the Argentine ace Valentín Barco from RC Strasbourg, as Blues boss Liam Rosenior has reported informed the board that he would like the South American signed.

Liam Rosenior has been in the CHELSEA job for a few weeks now, and to be honest, he has done a pretty good job getting the Blues chase for a Champions League place back on after a number of poor performances from Enzo Maresca’s men.

However – the Carabao Cup loss to Arsenal last week showed that Rosenior is lacking the players that he needs to get his football style across to the rest of the squad, and there are alot of reports that he will be given the funds to add to his side when the summer transfer window opens up.

And according to a report from Bolavip, the newly appointed Chelsea manager has requested that the club hierarchy sign the player, and he has reportedly informed the Chelsea hierarchy: “I want Valentín Barco back.”

Barco has one goal and four assists to his name in Ligue 1 this season, and he would only improve with coaching and experience. He is well-versed with Rosenior’s system, and he could settle quickly and make an immediate impact.

IcChelseanews Says…

Rosenior is managing one of the biggest clubs in the world, has one of the biggest transfer budgets around and has a bunch of top-level players that have alot of egos that he needs to keep in check, would they really be worried about the signing of Barco?

We are not sure the player will make any difference to that CHELSEA side, he would probably struggle to make any real impact at Stamford Bridge with all the quality that the Blues have.

DUSAN VLAHOVIC CONTACT MADE

Chelsea are hoping to sign Dusan Vlahovic on a free transfer from Juventus at the end of the season.

Despite the impressive performances at times of Pedro and Delap, CHELSEA needs to delve into that transfer kitty once again at the end of the season and try to sign another forward that can lead the Blues front line.

Though Vlahovic has been an important performer for Juventus in recent season, scoring over 60 goals in just over 160 games, the Italian side are keen to offload his club-high £350,000-a-week wages.

Clubs across Europe are on alert regarding Vlahovic’s situation, and the TMW website are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have contacted the player’s representatives about a possible move to the Premier League in the summer

Vlahovic was free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in the January window, but obviously that did not happen, but reports have claimed the London duo are battling for his signature. AC Milan are also keen and confident of a deal, despite Vlahovic’s interest in a move to England

IcChelseanews Says…

Vlahovic is a quality striker that has all the ability to be a brilliants Premier League forward, so if he is interested in a move to England, then this would be a good option for the likes of CHELSEA

The Blues have a world class attack that is struggling for goals, so if there is a chance to sign Vlahovic at the end of the season on a free, then the board should make sure to bring the striker to this attack.

We believe that he has the qualities that we have been lacking in attack this season, and considering their is a shortage of world class strikers around, he would be a brilliant addition to the squad.
