Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been under pressure for much of the 2025/26 season.
Amid a run of nine defeats from 12 in all competitions earlier this season, fans were calling for Oliver Glasner to replace Slot.
Liverpool then went on an unbeaten run, though it was littered with plenty of draws and poor performances against weak opponents.

What has not helped Slot’s case is the fact that the Reds have now won just one of their last seven Premier League games across all competitions.
Xabi Alonso keeps being linked with the job as well, and he is now available after losing his job at Real Madrid.
It remains to be seen if and when Slot will leave, but Paul Scholes doesn’t see the 47-year-old lasting beyond 2025/26.
How Arne Slot can save his job
Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, the former Manchester United midfielder suggested what will save Slot’s job.

Scholes thinks Liverpool will need to win the Champions League, but doesn’t see it happening.
He said: “If you lose three or four games on the trot, you’re under pressure.
“Of course you are at a club like Liverpool. The one thing he’s probably got to do now is win the Champions League.
“That might be the only thing that saves his job. I can’t see him doing it though. I can’t see him doing it.”

Liverpool’s Champions League chances
After beating Qarabag 6-0 in their final group game, Liverpool are into the last-16 of the competition.
They have avoided the play-offs and will not return to European action until March.
Ahead of the knockout rounds kicking off, Liverpool have a decent chance of winning the Champions League.
Opta’s supercomputer says Arsenal are favourites to lift the trophy, with a 29.92% chance of doing so.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are the fourth-most likely to win the competition later this year (8.79% chance), behind Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
