Chelsea board told potential£82M signing‘will be worth every penny’

Chelsea would have to pay a big fee if they were to lure Julian Alvarez back to the Premier League, that is according to ex-Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, amid the many reports that the Blues are still keen on a transfer deal.

Over the past few weeks, it is no secret that CHELSEA have been heavily linked with a move for Julian Alvarez ever since news broke that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid would be open to letting the little striker leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours surrounding the striker, Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the striker would be worth the high fee Chelsea would have to pay for him.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yes, look, I know that Julian Alvarez has been very highly regarded at Atletico Madrid.

“Everybody loves him, and he saved them in many ways. A number of big games. He’s a great player. If he was to come back, then I think that would be a big move, but well worth it.

“He is quality and I think he would suit them very well. But yes, he is very highly regarded, and it would not be a cheap one, but I think he does want to come back to the UK and I think he’ll set the Premier League on fire again, and I think even more so now he’s had this spell at Atletico where he really has impressed to a great degree.”
