Alan Shearer Claims West Ham Fans Will Be "Screaming" At Him Following Latest Prediction

BBC pundit Alan Shearer says he “still” believes West Ham will be relegated despite their win against Burnley on Saturday.

The victory at Turf Moor has moved the Hammers to within three points of safety, but when asked who he thinks could end the season in the bottom three, Shearer replied:

“West Ham, I still think. If you were to ask me, I think West Ham [will get relegated]. I can hear the West Ham fans screaming at me now.”

The win at the weekend, combined with Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Leeds on Friday, will give fans greater belief that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side can avoid the drop, despite Shearer’s doubts.

The form table will give West Ham hope

Over the last five games, the Irons have picked up nine points out of a possible twelve, which is the fourth-best record of any Premier League team.

They have recorded more points than both Forest and Leeds during that period, too, and if that trend continues between now and the final fixture in May, they will get out of trouble. Of course, there is still a long way to go.

Who are West Ham set to face over the next 3 league fixtures?

Nuno’s men take on Manchester United at the London Stadium on Tuesday night. Michael Carrick’s side are actually top of the form table over the last five matches, having won their last four games in a row since the interim manager’s appointment just under a month ago.

After a brief break from league action to play Burton Albion in the FA Cup, the Hammers will then face Bournemouth in another home fixture before they travel to Anfield for the clash against Liverpool at the end of February.
