Napoli’s hierarchy has admitted they are fearful of losing Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United transfer target Scott McTominay as rumours of a Premier League return continue to swirl in the media over the past few weeks.
The former Manchester United midfielder has been a revelation in Italy, helping the Italians to that Seria A title last season and voted the MVP of the league, with many Napoli fans believing that United were fools to let him leave the club.
However – there has been alot of speculation in the media which have claimed that all the big clubs in the Premier League are very much interested in trying to bring McTominay back to the Premier League, and now a senior club official has now conceded that the Scottish international “deserves” a move to the “next level” in the future.
Napoli’s global business development officer Leonardo Giammarioli told TalkSport: “Yeah, of course I’m worried,”
“But ultimately, especially Scott, who’s a very nice guy, we’re happy if he gets to the next level in a couple of years – maybe not now, maybe not next year, but he deserves it.”
IcFootballnews Says…
When Man United sold McTominay to Napoli a few seasons ago, the Red Devils firmly believed that they were getting some good money for the midfielder, that he would not be as impressive in Seria A as he has been over the past few seasons.
But the midfielder has become one of the worlds best and a star that Napoli fans love, so we cant see him leaving Italian football anytime soon, unless a crazy offer is made by one of the big Premier League sides.
CHELSEA have the financial power to really test the ability of Napoli keeping their star players, and they also have the financial power to offer the midfielder the kind of contract that he may never get with the Italian giants.
We cant see the Scottish star coming back to the Premier League anytime soon, but if he wants to prove himself to all those doubters, he would be a fantastic signing for most of the sides in England.
