Liverpool team news ahead of the Premier League clash against Sunderland.

Arne Slot has provided a Liverpool injury update ahead of the trip to Sunderland.

The Reds head to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday depleted of options yet again. Conor Bradley,, Giovanni Leoni (both knee) and Alexander Isak (broken leg) are long-term casualties, while Jeremie Frimpong (groin) remains absent.

Liverpool have serious issues at right-back, with Joe Gomez missing the past three matches because of a hip problem. In addition, Dominik Szoboszlai - who has featured in the position on several occasions - is suspended after his red card in the 2-1 loss to Manchester City.

Gomez is due back in training today, although there are doubts whether he can start against Sunderland. The Liverpool boss said at his pre-match press conference: “Joe has not trained yet. I’m expecting him to train for the first time. If Joe is not ready to start, we are missing four. Curtis and Wata have played there this season.”

Youngsters Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic (both hamstring) remain sidelined.
