Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel achieved another historic milestone in his rookie year.

With his 20-point performance in a 110–104 loss to the Detroit Pistons, Knueppel became the first rookie this season to reach 1,000 points.

He is also the fourth-fastest player to reach 1,000 career points since 2020, doing it in 53 games, behind Zion Williamson (44 games), Victor Wembanyama (49 games), and Paolo Banchero (51 games).

This season, the 20-year-old Knueppel is averaging 18.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 42.8% from three-point range.

He will also participate in the NBA Three-Point Contest this weekend, where he will have the opportunity to become the first rookie to win the contest.
