Chelsea spent big money to address the striker position over the summer in an attempt to replace the efforts of Nicolas Jackson from the previous two seasons.
Joao Pedro can certainly be seen as a successful signing so far. The Brazilian has particularly impressed in the era where Liam Rosenior has been in charge.
While Pedro has found his feet, the same cannot be said so far for Liam Delap. He has just one Premier League goal to his name so far.
What are your predictions for Chelsea v Leeds?
Chelsea will be confident…
Reports have already come out stating that some at the club have doubts over Delap, represented by his fairly moderate transfer value in today’s market.

Liam Rosenior a huge fan of Emanuel Emegha
Chelsea are already on their way to addressing the striker position with the pending signing of Emanuel Emegha. He is joining from Strasbourg in a controversial move at the end of the season.
The benefit of Chelsea having Emegha’s former manager at the helm is that he can provide his own assessment on his capabilities, and as per Simon Phillips. Rosenior is a big fan of the Dutchman already.
He said on his Substack: “Already joining Chelsea this summer of course, but he’s on this list because the club need to decide what they want to do with him in the summer. Does he come in to the first team squad right away? Maybe.
“Our sources have heard that Liam Rosenior really rates the striker. I guess a lot can depend on Delap here and how many 9s Chelsea want to bring in. They could still loan him out, and maybe even to Strasbourg.”

Emegha’s pre-Chelsea career stunted
Emegha would have been hoping to be coming to Chelsea off the back of one final great season as captain of Strasbourg.

This doesn’t look as if it is going to happen though. Emegha has suffered an injury setback which will rule him out for a couple of months.
Rosenior was already in conversations about signing Emegha in January, and no doubt will be keeping a close eye on his current strikers to change his mind.
There still looks as if there is no way back at Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson, despite the fact Bayern Munich are not inclined to sign him permanently.
