Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad is reportedly in talks with Mohamed Salah's agent as another attempt to bring the Egyptian forward to the Middle East is underway.
Salah is contracted with Liverpool through June 2027, but the winger hasn't reached his usual standards so far this season. The infamous fallout with head coach Arne Slot before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations also threatened his legacy, but Salah appears comfortable again at Liverpool.
However, the Saudi Pro League has been attempting to sign Salah for some time, as the Liverpool star is the most recognized Muslin soccer player in the world. Salah has previously dismissed any links to Saudi clubs, but is now more open to leaving Liverpool.

According to Foot Mercato, Salah's agent is in talks with Al-Ittihad over a future move. Should an approach be made this summer, Liverpool would receive a transfer fee for Salah, helping replace the legendary winger.
Salah has been linked with several Saudi Pro League teams since the division began throwing unprecedented contracts at soccer stars, but Al-Ittihad is now seen as the frontrunner. The club recently saw N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema depart, and needs a new high-profile star.
Kante signed for Turkish club Fenerbahce, as striker Youssef En-Nesyri moved in the opposite direction. Benzema's departure was more controversial, as he reportedly refused to play for Al‑Ittihad due to a contract dispute.

On the final day of the winter transfer window, Benzema completed a move to rival Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal on a free transfer. Salah would make up for the two departures, but it's unknown if Liverpool is willing to sell the winger.
Salah has just four goals and five assists in 17 Premier League games this season, which is extremely low compared to his high standards. However, Liverpool has struggled across the board this season, but Salah hasn't looked like the same player.
Despite a dispute with Salah earlier this season, Slot admitted that the team missed him during the Africa Cup of Nations. Salah spent approximately five weeks on international duty in Morocco.

Slot admitted that the team would have secured more points with Salah in the team, and during Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, he also praised the winger. Slot was furious that City defender Marc Guehi wasn't sent off for fouling Salah, claiming that it was a goalscoring opportunity.

"We can talk about the decisions," Slot said on Sky Sports. "I would like to talk about the one time Mo was through on goal, and Guehi holds his shirt.
"Everyone who has been in this stadium in the last eight years knows if Mo is in that position, it is a goal. So it is a denial of a goalscoring opportunity."
Liverpool will be reluctant to sell Salah, but it's unlikely that the club will offer him a new long-term contract in 2027. If Al-Ittihad or any Saudi Pro League club makes a strong offer, it could see Salah depart Liverpool.
