There is no doubting that Liam Rosenior’s opposite in the dugout tonight, Daniel Farke, deserves enormous plaudits for the work he has done at Leeds United since joining in 2023.

But before his impressive stint as Leeds manager, Farke was Norwich gaffer. His one full season in the Premier League ended in relegation, and his second saw him sacked during the November break.

Before his first Premier League match as Leeds boss, Farke had a record of six wins in 49 matches in England’s top tier. But the German will recall that his worst-ever managerial result came at The Bridge.

For once, Rosenior provided some positive news ahead of Tuesday night. Cole Palmer is managing his minutes and played an hour on Saturday, but Rosenior confirmed Palmer was fit to play on Tuesday.
James, who remains a nightmare figure for Leeds after playing in Wigan’s 2-1 win in 2018-19, is also expected to be available. Rosenior said he was fit but had picked up an illness, with some staff also ill.
Jamie Gittens, Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill remain injured, but there was good news regarding Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo. Meanwhile, Andrey Santos and Pedro Neto have overcome knocks.
