Former Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is doubling down on his transition into the world of music. The Colombian has followed up his 2025 major debut by featuring in a new music video released by Latin music star Silvestre Dangond.

Diaz, who left Anfield to join Bayern Munich in a £65.5million transfer last summer, has steadily escalated his musical interests in recent years. In 2024, he appeared on Ryan Castro's track, 'El ritmo que nos une', where he sang several verses.

The South American later made his debut as the lead singer in 'La Promesa' (The Promise), which was released at the end of 2025. And he's now dipped his toes further by featuring in the video for Dangond's latest single, 'Ganas de tenerla’.

The official video tells the story of a young boy with dreams of becoming a footballers, dancing his way through streets adorned with the flags of other nations. Diaz and Dangond then enter the picture by showcasing their own moves on a football pitch.

Diaz, 29, doesn't get to display his vocals on this occasion, but fans are sure to get a kick out of the visuals alone. Despite his continued success on the field, the Premier League winner put into words what his music delving means to him after releasing his first song last year.

"Many people know me for football, but today I want you to get to know another side of me," he said at the time. "Music is one of my hobbies and a way for me to express myself from the heart, something I do with great affection and respect for the art."

The music video for La Promesa is interlaced with clips of Diaz playing from across his career with Barranquilla FC, Porto, Liverpool and Bayern. And it looks inevitable fans will be getting fresh instalments from the winger in future.

After 64 direct goal involvements (41 goals, 23 assists) in 148 games for Liverpool, many have mourned Diaz's exit last summer. However, the sale was also viewed as decent business for a player with less than two years left on his contract.

The move to Bavaria has been an overwhelming success for him and Bayern since then. Diaz has scored 18 goals and made 14 assists in his first 30 appearances for the club, with Die Roten clear favourites to retain their Bundesliga title.

Diaz's latest star turn came during Sunday's 5-1 win over high-flying Hoffenheim. Incredibly, Diaz had a hand in all five of his side's goals, netting a hat-trick to go alongside his two assists.

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is a major fan of the forward's ability to make something out of madness and said in November: ”Lucho has got a kind of ‘chaotic creativity’. He can always do something in chaos.

"As a defender, I always found it uncomfortable to play against such players because you never know whether you have the ball under control or he has it."
