The NBA announced Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry's All-Star replacement after being ruled out with a knee injury.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram will replace Curry on USA Stripes for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game.
Curry will miss this year’s All-Star Game with patellofemoral pain syndrome. He has missed four consecutive games due to the injury, also known as runner’s knee.
The 37-year-old superstar will remain out for Golden State’s final contest before the All-Star break against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
The 12-time All-Star has had this nagging injury for a little over three weeks. He first experienced the pain in his right knee during an individual workout on Jan. 24, but played through it before he couldn’t anymore during a contest against the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 30.
Curry was blunt when he addressed the pain of his injury.
"It's a matter of learning as I go what works rehab-wise," Curry said. "Because it's still painful. You have to try to get rid of all the inflammation and pain. It's something we still have to monitor and injury-manage, but it's something where, if I come back too early, it could flare up."
The four-time NBA champion is hopeful that he will return for the team’s first game back after the All-Star break against the Boston Celtics.
Ingram will now make his second All-Star appearance of his career. It will be his first appearance since the 2019-20 season, when he was a member of the New Orleans Pelicans.
The 28-year-old and now two-time All-Star has been incredible this season. In 52 games, the former Duke Blue Devil is averaging 22.0 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.8 steals while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three in 34 minutes of action.
When is the NBA All-Star Game?
The 75th NBA All-Star game will take place in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers. It will take place on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 5 PM ET on NBC and Peacock.
