Warriors linked to blockbuster offseason trade for $165 million Heat three-time All-Star center

The Golden State Warriors did what they could before this year’s Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Trading Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks for Kristaps Porzingis wound up being the franchise’s blockbuster transaction, with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo spending the final couple of months of the season with Milwaukee.

When the offseason arrives, ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel believes the Warriors could bolster their roster further by trading for a Miami Heat star center and three-time All-Star.

“As a result of holding onto their assets, the Warriors can now be aggressive again when the time comes for the offseason,” Siegel wrote Tuesday. “Does this mean another pursuit of Giannis? Perhaps, but what happens if other stars like Karl-Anthony Towns or Kawhi Leonard become available? Maybe the Cleveland Cavaliers look to move Jarrett Allen, or maybe even Bam Adebayo asks for a trade from the Miami Heat.”

“After all, Adebayo is a player the Warriors have been interested in over the last year, as we've reported at ClutchPoints, and he still holds a strong relationship with Butler.”

“Adebayo is certainly a player Warriors fans should keep in the back of their mind, especially with Lacob also owning the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA and wanting to be aggressive in pursuing a superstar talent soon.”

Adebayo would undoubtedly earn the recognition he deserves by taking his talents to the Warriors this summer. The Kentucky product continues to fly under the radar with the Heat despite being a consistent low-post scorer, a decisive driver, an improved three-point shooter, and an impactful interior defender.

Adebayo is averaging 18.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game with Miami this season, shooting 44.6% from the field and 34.2% from beyond the arc.

Pairing Kristaps Porzingis with Adebayo would give the Warriors one of the strongest frontcourt units in the NBA and give Stephen Curry another two-way weapon. It'll be up to the Warriors to decide if it’s worth exploring a trade for Adebayo in the offseason.
