Chelsea were 2-0 up and cruising in tonight’s game against Leeds, and a win should have been guaranteed.
But some sloppy play cost them, and before long it was 2-2.
Brutally, there was a perfect chance to win the game in the 94th minute, Moises Caicedo played a cross into the six yard box which Cole Palmer just had to keep under the bar to win the game.
Sadly he couldn’t keep it down. The ball flew over, and the attacker was left standing in the net, in shock.

Palmer on the right track despite bad miss
Cole Palmer can't believe he's missed the chance.
Cole Palmer can’t believe he’s missed the chance.
It’s not worth worrying about this miss – the good news is that Palmer is finally on the road to recovery and playing better and better, after almost 3 months where we really worried he was going through something bad.
Finally his body seems to be giving him what he needs, and this miss aside, he’s getting the confidence back. This is just one of those things… It was the 94th minute, and we’re sure with a few weeks more minutes in his legs he’ll be putting this away.
In other news…
To be fair to Palmer, he did more than his fair share to help his team win this game. He threaded a lovely through ball to Joao Pedro to score the opener, then slammed in a penalty when the Brazilian returned the favour by drawing the spot kick. You can see both those goals in the post here. What a shame it wasn’t enough to get the job done.
There’s been a lot of mockery and memes about Liam Rosenior since he took the Chelsea job – but they’re gradually fading away as the wins rack up. Another 3 points tonight will shut up another section of the doubters.
