Clippers vs. Rockets: The matchup
Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers are among the NBA’s hottest teams as this week’s All-Star Break approaches and they have only back-to-back games against the Rockets in Houston before the break. The Clips won the first two of their current four-game road trip over the Sacramento Kings (114-111) on Friday and Minnesota Timberwolves (115-96) on Sunday, with Leonard dropping 31 and 41 points, respectively, in those games. Los Angeles is now knocking on the door of a .500 record (25-27) for the first time since Nov. 3, powered by a 19-6 record over the past 25 games.

The Rockets went on the road to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder (112-106) on Saturday to bounce back from consecutive double-digit home losses to the Boston Celtics (114-93) and Charlotte Hornets (109-99) earlier in the week. Recently named All-Star Alperen Sengun logged a triple-double in the winning effort over OKC, scoring 17 points with 12 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and three steals in 37 minutes. Houston currently holds the No. 4 spot in a tightly bunched Western Conference where the Nos. 3-7 teams are separated by just 2.5 games.
