Crystal Palace are pushing hard to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi. He is a top target for the summer as the club look to strengthen a thin backline. Reliable journalist Mirko Di Natale confirms the Eagles are in a scrap with heavyweights Chelsea and Everton. On top of that, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have also asked about the defender lately.
The 28-year-old Argentine is entering the final months of his deal at the Vitality Stadium. This means he will be a free agent in June 2026. Palace bosses see Senesi as the perfect man to replace Marc Guehi, who left for Manchester City earlier this year. They want to sign him on a bargain Bosman deal to avoid paying a massive transfer fee.
Marcos Senesi has been the rock of the Bournemouth defence this season, showing real leadership and quality on the ball. The Argentina international now has three caps for the World Champions. He has been a huge part of the Cherries’ 2025/26 campaign and has bagged four assists in 24 Premier League games as of February.
Crystal Palace Target Marcos Senesi in Fierce Transfer Battle
His left-footed passing gives managers the tactical advantage they look for when playing out from the back. At the same time, he is a fighter in the air and wins most of his headers. Despite Bournemouth’s big wins over Liverpool and Tottenham in January, Senesi has turned down several contract offers. It is a clear sign he is ready to leave the South Coast.
Realistically, Palace have a tough task on their hands to pull this off. The Eagles can promise him a starting spot in the team. But Chelsea and Tottenham have the cash to offer much higher wages and a path into Europe.

Senesi’s agents will likely ask for a big signing bonus since there is no transfer fee involved. South London is still a likely landing spot if the defender wants to be a leader rather than just a rotation player at a top-six club. His aggressive style is a great fit for Palace. Still, with so many elite clubs in the mix, getting this deal over the line will not be easy.
