Milwaukee Bucks veteran forwardBobby Portis survived theNBA trade deadline, with the team keeping him for at least the remainder of the 2025-26 season. And with Portis sticking with Milwaukee, he gets to celebrate his 31st birthday with the team he won an NBA championship with.
The league also sent him a birthday greeting on Tuesday via a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Others joined in to send heartfelt messages for the former Arkansas Razorbacks star.
“Happy Birthday Mayor!,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “Hey Bobby Buckets! 🎉 Happy Birthday, man! Hope your day’s filled with buckets… on and off the court! 🏀🥳”
From a commenter: “Happy 31st birthday, Bobby Portis! Keep bringing that energy to the Bucks—championship vibes ahead!”
“I thought for sure B Portis was born in 1962 and starred in a 80’s movie calling someone a jive turkey… anyways Happy Bday BP! 👏🏽,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Most energetic guy in the league! Happy birthday 🎁”
Said another: “Happy Birthday to the Mayor of Milwaukee 🔥”
Portis continues career with the Bucks
Portis began his journey with Milwaukee in 2020, when he signed with the team as a free agent. He will be with the team beyond this season unless he gets traded, having signed a three-year extension worth $43.56 million with the Bucks in 2025 (including a player option worth $15.59 million for the 2027-28 campaign).
In 49 games played this season thus far, Portis has averaged 13.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists, while posting a 57.1 effective field goal percentage.
