Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Julian Alvarez, Endrick and Sedi Kinteh that you may have missed over the past 24 hours…
Chelsea’s attacking rebuild continues to gather pace ahead of the summer transfer window, and one of the names increasingly circulating in rumour columns is Julián Álvarez — the Argentine international currently starring for Atlético Madrid. But with stiff competition and a complex transfer landscape, could this ambitious link actually happen?
Álvarez’s stock has soared since his move to Atlético Madrid. After a standout season in La Liga — consistently scoring and creating goals — he’s firmly on the radar of several top European clubs.
Alongside CHELSEA, reported suitors include Barcelona, Arsenal and PSG, each offering different profiles of challenge and opportunity for the 26-year-old striker.
Despite this interest, Atlético Madrid appear reluctant to sell, with club sources stressing that Álvarez remains central to their project and not expected to move. That stance could complicate any potential transfer plans.
Why Chelsea Would Be Interested
His previous spell at Manchester City gives him an edge over some continental targets, as he already understands the rigours of English football. Capable of playing across the front line with a strong goalscoring and creative output, his profile fits a system that emphasises fluid attacking play.
Chelsea’s need for a reliable striker — particularly one who can consistently find the net and link play — means Álvarez could be the kind of marquee signing to elevate the club’s ambitions.
Transfer fee and Atletico’s stance
Álvarez is under contract long-term at Atlético, who have historically shown reluctance to sell key players and will likely demand a significant fee — potentially well into the €80-100m bracket. That kind of outlay would need careful financial planning from Chelsea and might deter rival bidders.
If CHELSEA are serious about pushing back towards European contention, securing a forward of Álvarez’s calibre would send a powerful message — but it would also require a bold, well-structured deal and perhaps some creativity behind the scenes.
A move for Julián Álvarez could happen, but it’s far from guaranteed. Chelsea’s interest is real, and the player’s profile fits their ambitions — but financial, competitive and contractual realities mean this will be one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the summer.
But in the end, Alvarez could be making that move to Chelsea in the summer, as they have the financial power to complete this transfer deal
ENDRICK DECISION MADE
CHELSEA transfer target and Real Madrid talent Endrick’s agent has confirmed where the Brazilian superstar will play his football in 2026-27 after enjoying a great start to life in France on loan at Lyon.
Florentino Pérez is not happy with all the bad publicity the club have received after the sacking of Xabi Alonso last month, and the image of the club has accelerated decisions that perhaps would have been postponed to the summer.
Real Madrid will not force exits, but they will listen to offers for some of the clubs biggest and best stars at the end of the season. All of them are, from now on, on display in the market, according to reports.
The reading is clear: no one is untouchable if their performance and attitude are not aligned with the demands of the club. Not even profiles that until recently seemed unquestionable, and Endrick is a player that has been linked with a move away.
The forward has hit the ground running in Ligue 1, scoring a hat-trick in a big win over Metz, which has led to speculation Lyon could try to keep him at the club. His agent, Tiago Freitas, has now offered an update on the situation.
He told Win Win: “Endrick was loaned to Lyon for six months. The decision has already been made and Endrick will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season. There is no ambiguity and no secret about this. The agreement is only a loan, with no option to buy, so Endrick will return. What will happen next season? I cannot predict that, but I can tell you that at the end of this season Endrick will once again be a Real Madrid player.”
The Brazilian’s agent also spoke about his time at Real Madrid, explaining why he thinks Endrick found game time hard to come by at the Santiago Bernabeu. He added: “Endrick had no adaptation problems whatsoever. He scored in his first Champions League match, his first league match, and his first cup match.
‘Endrick has only played a few minutes at Real Madrid because, when he arrived at the club, and if you look at the attacking players there, you will find that eight of the 10 best players in the world are at Real Madrid. Vinícius Júnior, winner of FIFA’s The Best award. Mbappé, an incredible and exceptional player.
‘Jude Bellingham, a great player who is capable of winning the award for the best player in the world. Rodrygo, a player who decides many important Champions League matches.
“It is completely normal for a young 18-year-old player to arrive at a club like this and have limited minutes. It is also important to mention that Endrick did not start the season with the rest of the players. He did not travel to the United States for the Club World Cup and he was injured.
‘At a club like Real Madrid, when you are out of the team for three or four months, it is very normal to have difficulty playing again.”
CHELSEA WANTS KINTEH
Chelsea are reportedly mulling over a move to sign Tromso central defender Sedi Kinteh after missing out on Jeremy Jacquet in the January transfer window, after Liverpool agreed a late deal for the defender.
During the whole of the January transfer window, there was constant speculation in the media that CHELSEA were going to be signing Jacquet from Rennes, but the asking price was holding up any potential deal for the Frenchman.
The rumours were constant about whether or not he would join Chelsea, but then Premier League rivals Liverpool swooped in, opened talks with the player and his club, and agreed to bring him to England at the end of the summer for a massive fee of £60 million.
That means that Chelsea have been looking at alternatives for Jacquet, and not it seems that Kinteh is a player that the Blues are very much interested in signing, as the young man has been earning rave reviews with his outstanding performances across an eye-catching debut season in senior football with Tromso this term.
The 19-year-old, known for his athleticism and lightning speed, has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Norwegian outfit, who sit third in the Eliteserien table, and according to Daily Mail Sport, Chelsea and Manchester United are known to have ‘strong links’ in the Norwegian game and the two giants of English football are ‘weighing up an approach’ for the teenager in the summer.
IcFootballnews Says…
Lets get this straight, CHELSEA want to go into that transfer kitty once again and add another exciting player to the squad, when in fact they need to add some leadership to that back-line.
We are sure that Kinteh is a very talented player, we are sure that he could have a big future in the game, but at the end of the day, he is not ready for this move to Chelsea and it would be a mistake to come to the Premier League.
For Chelsea, they need to add some more experienced players to the side because all these young signings have been hit and miss.
