Arsenal have now come out and announced that academy winger Charles Sagoe Jr has joined Swedish side Kalmar FF on loan until January 2027 after the decision was made to allow him to leave for a short period of time.
ARSENAL posted on the club website: ‘The 21-year-old joined our academy from Fulham in July 2015 and went on to sign his first professional contract in July 2022.
‘Charles has made a strong start to the season with 14 appearances for our under-21 side in both the Premier League 2 and Vertu Trophy, scoring five goals and assisting seven times.
The versatile forward, capable of playing in midfield, was rewarded for his performances when he was named as a substitute in our 3-0 win away to Slavia Prague in the Champions League back in November 2025.
‘Following Charles’ first team debut for us in September 2023 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, he spent valuable time on loan with both Swansea City in the Championship and in League One with Shrewsbury Town last season.
‘We wish Charles all the best for his loan spell with Kalmar FF, who are newly promoted into the Swedish top-flight, and look forward to seeing his continued development.’

Charles Sagoe Jr needed to go out on loan and get some much needed minutes on the pitch, this was a very good decision from Arsenal to allow the star to leave for the next 12 months.
He should come back to ARSENAL a much more developed player, if he manages to get the game time he needs, and maybe he will have more of a chance to challenge for a spot in that Mikel Arteta squad.
As we said, this is a very good move for the lad to make, and Arsenal will hope it all works out well and no injuries are picked up
