The Celtics have two starters listed on their injury report ahead of their 7:30 p.m. Wednesday game against the Bulls. Fortunately, they’re both trending toward playing. Sam Hauser (low back spasms) and Neemias Queta (right ankle sprain) are both listed as probable. Jayson Tatum remains out with his Achilles rehab.
Hauser missed the Celtics’ loss to the Knicks on Sunday due to the low back spasms, but it’s trending toward like he’ll be ready to play. Queta’s ankle sprain is a recent issue, though it also sounds like he should be available for Wednesday’s game.
The Celtics have this final game Wednesday before getting more than a week off for the All-Star break. The C’s will have some representation in Los Angeles, including with All-Star starter Jaylen Brown. Before most of the team embarks somewhere warm for the week, they’ll look to bounce back from their blowout loss to New York last time out.
The Celtics are currently 34-19, good for second in the East. They’ve been one of the best teams in the conference throughout this season. The C’s have done all that despite missing Tatum for the entire year. It’s unclear if Tatum will be back on the court this season, though he did practice with the Maine Celtics this week.
“I’m feeling good,” Tatum said. “It was good to be a part of practice yesterday with the Maine G League guys. Today is 39 weeks, so it’s been a long journey. And it’s just like the progression of rehab. It was the next step. Doesn’t mean that I’m coming back or I’m not. It’s just following the plan. So it’s just another step.”
