Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has revealed that Marc Cucurella sustained a hamstring injury against Leeds on Tuesday evening.
The left-back was forced off at halftime during the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, and asked why the player had been withdrawn, Rosenior replied:
“Unfortunately, at half-time, he felt his hamstring. It wasn’t a tactical change – it was one that was enforced.”
“Cucu is one who has been top, and hopefully he will be okay. We will scan him and make sure we find out if he is available for the next game.”
Cucurella is unlikely to face Hull City
Despite Rosenior saying he is hoping to have the Spanish international back for Chelsea’s next fixture, it would not be wise to risk him.

Even if Cucurella has only felt a twinge in his hamstring, it is better to err on the side of caution, as there is a danger of the problem getting worse. A major tear would keep him out for months.
In any case, the Blues are playing in the FA Cup next up on Friday evening, so there is no need to play him. Jorrel Hato is expected to provide cover against Hull.
Chelsea have six other players out
Tosin Adarabioyo and Romeo Lavia are still not fit enough to make the matchday squad, despite Rosenior confirming that they have taken part in some training sessions with the first team in recent days.
Filip Jorgensen is out with an unspecified injury, while Dario Essugo and Jamie Gittens are not expected to be back in action anytime soon.
Levi Colwill (ACL) could make his return before the end of the season, but he is still at least two to three months away from playing again.
Reece James is no longer injured, but the captain was absent for the draw against Leeds due to illness.
