Mixed Messages Coming From Las Vegas Over Maxx Crosby

Mixed Messages Coming From Las Vegas Over Maxx Crosby

February 11th, 2026

Mixed messages from the desert.

Again, Joe brings this information for his readers because Joe knows there is keen interest in this subject. Joe is also a businessman. As noted humanitarian Sam Giancana once said when asked why he and his colleagues work in the business they’ve chosen, Giancana said, “We give [customers] what they want.”

There is a lot of smoke blowing out of Raiders headquarters in Las Vegas and the smoke signals are directly contradicting each other.

On one hand you have uber NFL insider Jay Glazer claiming All-World edge rusher Maxx Crosby is a caged lion wanting to get away from the Raiders.

On the other hand you have new Raiders coach Klint Kubiak saying yesterday that the very first player to come into the Raiders facility to work out was Crosby and the two had a coffee together to get to know each other.

If Kubiak isn’t fibbing, a guy hellbent on leaving doesn’t sound like the same guy who would be the first in the building the morning after a Super Bowl to work out.

Joe is going to guess there may be a little clarity on Crosby’s situation in two weeks when Joe joins the football world when it parachutes into downtown Indianapolis for the combine.

If what Raiders owner Mark Davis wants in ransom for Crosby is true, Joe just doesn’t see a deal getting done with Crosby for weeks maybe months. If the Bucs (or any team) is seriously thinking of dropping two first-round picks and some $30 million in salary a year for Crosby, 28, those teams are damn sure going to want to see Crosby at 100 percent before they pull the trigger.

Currently, Crosby is damaged goods, having missed the final two games of the 2025 season with a knee injury.

Could the Bucs use Crosby? Ha! Yes. However, what exactly are the Bucs getting in return? And most importantly, how will the Bucs use him? Joe’s not sure it’s very wise or makes a ton of financial sense to bring in an edge rusher and have him play safety on half the passing downs.
